255 Red

We went into downtown Chicago today. It was another dreary, very cold, blustery day and not condusive to being out taking photographs!!

The CTA Rail System is made up of 8 seperate lines covering the Chicago Area. Some of the trains running through downtown are underground subway trains and some of them run above the street and are referred to as elevated trains or the "L". One of the Red Line subway entrances is pictured here. If you enlarge the photograph you will see the Red Line sign more clearly.

The postprocessing consisted of boosting the color so it didn't look as dreary as the day was!!

  3. I like this a lot. One of the many things i love about Chicago is how easy it is to get around. Hope it warms up soon. There's a good reason that February is short.

  4. Thanks for the explnation on processing cause to my eye it looked like the windy city was getting ready for Mardi Gras, and i thought that that happened a little south of Illonois. Great Shot

  7. Great idea for the red theme;
    I've only been through the airport in Chicago - but your photo makes it look very nice. I'd never know that it was bleak and blustery:-)

  8. I, too, have only been through the airport in Chicago, but I have heard that it is a beautiful city. The photos that you take prove that.

  10. Hey, everyone! Downtown is only 12 miles from the airport (on the blue line, I believe?) Schedule a longer layover next time you are passing through... :-)

    GREAT job processing this, Mary Lou. The colors just pop!
