The University of Chicago Aeromedical Network (UCAN) helicopter's heliport is up on top of the hospital. UCAN is the the air medical service that provides helicopter transport of critically ill patients from the scene of an emergency or during interhospital transfer. It is staffed by a dedicated team of specially trained flight nurses, flight physicians, EMS pilots, and communication specialists--ready to respond to transport needs 24 hours a day.

Um...and were you dangling under that bridge like Spiderman to capture this cool shot?? :-D
ReplyDeleteAnother great catch - love all the lines that lead you to the helicopter! Great eye you have! Looks like you made some use of some of that "hospital" time!
ReplyDeleteMakes you wonder how people lived without helicopters? and I guess a lot didn't, great tribute.
ReplyDeleteGreat angle. Love the perspective.
ReplyDeleteNeat shot, but how did you get it??! They let you go up there? (I'm imagining you on a stealth photo walk through the hospital!)
ReplyDeleteVal and Lorri ~
ReplyDeleteI was inside the hospital and shot this through the window from the floor below. I have another shot that I am posting today. I will include more of a description with that one.
Wow! The perspective is great. Good eye!
ReplyDeleteSorry if I have not commented or responded you lately. I have a toothache that comes and goes.
