38 Button

Over a period of a couple years there were several assaults on the campus of the University of Chicago so the University installed an emergency phone system. There are about 150 white phones on campus and around the Hyde Park (Hyde Park is the name of the neighborhood) that connect directly to the University Police. The phones are simple to operate only the red button needs to be pushed and the police dispatcher can tell the exact location where the call is initiated.

  1. Great system and good for the theme. Kind of sad, though, that our society has come to this.

  2. Got the theme "On the Button" and yes Uni should be fun not a threat.

  3. I would think just having these available would deter criminal activities. You found a good image for this theme.

  6. Nice catch for the "button" theme. I hope it has the dual effect of making students feel safer while detering the would-be assailants.

  7. It's a shame that we need these on our campuses, but glad we have them around if the need arises.

  8. This is certainly a good "button" to have..agree with others that we shouldn't have to have them.
