Let me start by saying I'm not a very brave person. That being said here's what happened. We had our first outing today since my husband's surgery 6 weeks ago. On the way home I saw this and got out of the car to take a photograph. I was standing in the street and this was on the edge of someone's driveway. As the shutter clicked this man walked down the driveway and asked me what I was doing. I very confidently said "I'm in a photo club and I'm taking a picture". As he walked closer (I thought he was going to take my camera!!) he said "No you're not". Now I'm getting more nervous and I said "Yes I am. Why else would I be here". He looked at me in disbelief and finally said "The village sends people to take pictures of the litter instead of looking for the people who did this". I very politely walked away, got into the car and said to my husband "Weren't you going to come and save me?" to which he simply said "I was looking in the mirror the whole time!!". What we won't do to get a photograph!!

LOL! Great story!!! Was the man wearing tin foil on his head by any chance?
ReplyDeleteI can see his side of it if the litter issue is a long-standing one! But I think that would have been a little bit scary for you! Like you say, what we won't do to get a picture!
ReplyDeleteBrave Mary Lou, Glad it worked out well, people like that bring a lot on themselves. But your right, wasn't it you that wanted me to stand in the middle of the highway to get a better shot of the traffic? LOL
ReplyDeleteYikes, I admire your composure. Good shot for the theme!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's only this urn that was broken, and not your spirit. You had a defining-woman moment! Bravo!!
ReplyDeleteNice shot, by the way...especially considering it was taken under duress! :-D
I like the shot a lot and I applaud your moxie.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed, what you won't do to complete this challenge! You are one dedicated soul! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo for the theme & an even better story! It sounds like this cranky guy might have been through this before but I think you scared him off! lol
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! :)
ReplyDeleteLet's try to stay safe out there! We don't exactly have a "365 Photos Legal Aid Fund".... ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image :)
ReplyDeleteGood job on the bravery and the photo. I wonder if it was enough to make him clean up his yard?
