58 Coin Operated

Downtown Chicago has very fancy coin operated parking meters. Not only do they take coins they also take credit cards...big surprise!! The cost is a mere $3.50 per hour between 8AM and 9PM and $1.50 per hour between 9PM and 8AM. After your money is accepted you get a receipt that shows how many hours you paid for and that is placed on the dashboard. Don't be late or your car might not be there when you get back!!

  2. Love how they updated the machines to take credit cards - too bad they are not like an ATM and give money back! LOL

  9. Wow, those are too complicated for me. Parking in downtown Atlanta is outrageous too.

  10. I still like the old-fashioned kind where you turn the big lever thing to get the coin to go in. Hard to find now, though.

  11. Cha-ching! Most of the places I go have done away with meters but this looks pretty hi-tech - should at least be able to order a drink for the ride home?! Nice shot.
