262 Road or Street

I have done some more research on the small town of Sheffield Illinois and the population is 950 not 1500. It was established in 1852 and named after John Sheffield who was one of the founding fathers and an engineer on the Chicago and Rock Island Railroad. In this little town there is a cafe that is owned and operated by an executive chef who trained at the Culinary Institute of America which amazed us!! Needless to say we had a fabulous breakfast!!

The town is one block long with parking on both sides of the street. There are also two lanes of parking that go down the middle of the street. The street lights used to be in the middle of the street and that is where people parked. When the lights were moved they kept the parking in the middle.

  1. Now, that is incredible! Most people who "double park" get a ticket...

  2. I guess they do not need more parkings than that, being so few :o)
