We're still at the lake, and it is still 7 degrees F!! These people are Snowkiting. It was so fascinating to watch that I forgot I was standing outside!! After several tries they launched the kite and away they went gliding across the lake. (25 of 365)

What a great series of shots! That looks like fun, too. (I think I prefer my feet on the ground, though.)
ReplyDeleteGreat series - how do they stop? hmm that's gonna make me think for a while
ReplyDeleteFUN!! I have never seen snow kiting!! Wonderful series of photos which tell a great story! Love it!
ReplyDeleteNow I have seen everything! I did see some people kite surfing on the San Francisco Bay one time. I don't think I will do either!
ReplyDeleteAnother great series! Are you visiting Lake Woebegone? All of these interesting activities you keep posting have me wondering....
ReplyDeleteGreat shots again! Talk about wind chill!
ReplyDeleteNeat photos, I think I'll pass also!
ReplyDeleteLove the series of shots. Makes me wonder what happens when they become "airborn".
ReplyDelete7 degrees and windy enough to lift the kite aloft so they can ski? Brrrrrrr
ReplyDeleteI'm with the others. This offers more questions than it answers. How do they stop. And when they do stop, what happens to the kite? It is obvious that they have equipment costs. Do they just go on sailing too?
No thank you. I'll do something less risky - and less costly.
But great tale with the series of photos. Glad you shared.
Looks like lots of fun to me! They do a lot of kite surfing down the road here, but I've not seen it done on snow. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteNice series, Mary Lou. That must take a lot of skill....
ReplyDeleteIt looks really fun but difficult. Great pictures! :)

I think they must be mad but it made for some cool photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture of the series. I watched a bunch of people do this on the ocean with a surf board under them. That seemed a little softer of a landing than hitting the ice. It must also be very cold since you need so much wind to get moving! I think I'll keep both feet on the ground thank you.
