This was so interesting to watch this man prepare to go ice fishing. While the sun was out and the sky was a beautiful blue the temperature was a balmy 7 degrees F!! I took these shots while standing outside but I took a lot of shots sitting in my warm car!! (24 of 365)

Really cool images, Mary Lou! Funny you posted these today - my son & I saw some teenagers out on a pond trying to fish (it is cold today, but yesterday it was 58 degrees) - not sure if this was the smartest thing they could be doing! Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteYou'll notice that he has a bare head while he is unloading his vehicle. Then he has a cap on in the other shots. Good "story" photos.
ReplyDeleteShouldn't there be a bear in there (Helping)
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought PHOTOGRAPHY was an addiction! Fishing in 7ยบ temperatures--that's just nuts!
ReplyDelete(Great shots--of a crazy man!)
Great shots. I cannot imagine doing something like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a swell series of to me a baffling thing to do. I'm glad you kept warm and I hope fish were caught.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun...
ReplyDeleteas long as you don't stay out ALL day! lol
great capture!
I'm not sure what amazes me more--the man outside fishsing in those temperatures or you outside with your camera in those temperatures!
ReplyDeleteNice series of shots!
Here, they fish in nice warm huts with satellite dishes...
ReplyDeleteNice little series, Mary Lou. Kudos for sitting the car with a long lens. Shall we label you as paparazzi?
ReplyDeleteMary Lou, Nice series of pictures. I remember doing this as a kids. Only we hauled our ice shanty onto the river as soon as the ice was thick enough and then could sit inside it with a camping heater and hot chocolate
ReplyDeleteI love the sequence to these photos! now where are the fish?
ReplyDeleteI love these photos! I don't get regular fishing so I sure don't get ice fishing! : )
ReplyDeleteIce fishing is fun! Did it a lot with my grandfather when I was a child. We always had lunch with us, sandwiches and hot chocolate.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! :)
