This is Gary who I mentioned in the post below. He is a Vietnam Veteran and is an officer in his American Legion Hall. I had such a nice conversation with him in which he told me he makes these walking sticks. He walks in various forest preserves and with permission from the park rangers collects fallen branches and sands and varnishes them to make them into walking sticks. He then donates them to organizations or gives them to people who need assistance.

He sounds like an interesting person. My husband has made those walking sticks, also.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice interlude you had at the American Legion Hall! Those walking sticks are lovely...and I enjoyed the silhouettes from the prior photo. Who knows what you might find on an outing with a camera?
